WHERE DOES IT ALL GO?
ALL of the profits from this event will be donated to local charities.
The ethos at Chelmsford Round Table is one of fun, friends and fellowship. We are a social club with a conscience and over the last year have donated thousands of pounds to worthy beneficiaries including two significant donations to Essex Youth Build and Columbus School.
Indeed over the last 40+ years we have raised around half a million pounds, all of which has been invested back into local good causes.
In addition to our Fireworks event, Chelmsford Round Table also holds annual Santa Sleigh runs which help raise funds for our annual Senior Citizens Party.
MAJOR DONATIONS IN 2018/2019...
conducted around and in water but not actually on it. 73% of Essex is rural and within that there are many waterways and coastline, which means Essex SAR can spend a fair amount of time searching in water. Essex Search & Rescue (Essex SAR) is a voluntary organisation called upon by Essex Police when there is a report of a missing person. This is for high risk, vulnerable, people where an immediate lifesaving response is required. find out more at www.essexsearchandrescue.org.uk
ESSEX SEARCH AND RESCUE
Earlier this year Chelmsford Round Table donated £11,000 worth of the money, raised from last year's fireworks event, on equipment for the Essex Search & Rescue's Canoe Team. We were delighted to be able to provide funding for four Canoes, a Trailer and a whole host of personal safety equipment for the newly formed Canoe Team.
The addition of canoes and water equipment means that Essex SAR’s search capabilities are greatly enhanced, previously searches could only be
THE ENDEAVOUR ACADEMY
The Endeavour is a special school for children aged between 5 and 16. They place the children at the centre of everything they do. Endeavour's philosophy is that learning is a partnership of discovery involving the school, pupils, parents, and the wider community. It is through this philosophy that they seek to develop the intellectual, physical, moral and social potential of every pupil in the school.
Chelmsford Round Table
The Chelmsford Round Table organise this spectacular event each year with the help of our partners, volunteers, sponsors and other organisations.
If you would like to help with the event or wish to join the Round Table please find out more here.
Endeavour's courtyard was in desperate need of renovation, the area was unsafe to use and only accessible from one classroom. Chelmsford Round Table were delighted to be able to provide nearly £9,000 to help towards the work. Following the installation of new access doors and resurfacing, it has become a safe and inviting space that all learners can enjoy. They now have two parasols and four large folding tables, so the learners now have an outside learning and dining area in addition to a safe place to play. It’s even being used for sessions with their visiting therapy dog! http://www.endeavour.essex.sch.uk
ST LUKE'S HOSPICE
St. Luke’s Hospice aims to provide the highest standards of care for people who have specialist palliative and end of life care needs. This acute specialist multidisciplinary holistic care is offered for people living with or affected by cancer and any other advanced life-threatening illness, and is given within the Hospice or at home supported by services at St. Luke’s House, in partnership with patients, carers, families and other professionals. Their aim is to maintain and enhance the quality of life for our patients, caring for each of them as a whole person, offering the right to be treated with dignity, sensitivity, compassion and understanding.
St Luke's patients spend 24 hours a day in their beds which means they are at serious risk of developing pressure sores, so the mattress they lie on are really important. St Luke's use a specialist mattress on each of the beds called the Alerta Sensaflo Hybrid Foam, Gel and Air Pressure Relief Mattress System. The mattress has high specification foam with alternating air cells and a gel-filled heel pressure relief area. It also has a unique ability to change between a static foam mattress and a balanced-air self-adjusting air mattress, and because all of this can be changed at the touch of a button without getting out of bed, it is the most comfortable and least distressing solution for their patients. Chelmsford Round Table were delighted to be able to donate £3,500 from last years Fireworks towards these mattresses. https://stlukeshospice.com
